Poem Two

If only they can hold on to …                        

                                          If only they can hold onto pain

but it is too much to carry.

                                          If only they can hold onto trust

                                                         but there is little of it.

                                          If only they can hold onto love

                                                         but it is nowhere to find.

                                          If only they can hold onto peace

                                                         but there is to much violence in the way.

                                          If only they could hold onto promise

                                                         but no one keeps it.

                                         If only they can hold onto dreams 

                                                         but they lose it.

                                         If only they could hold onto you Jesus

                                                         but you hold onto them and that is what matters
